Uczien

Will had a "swearing in" ceremony at school. I have no idea what it is for, but they do it. Becca made that giant pencil that the director is using to inaugurate Will into the first grade. That's Will in the right hand corner of the top picture. He didn't know the words to the song so he just moved his mouth to make it look like he did.

Birthday Party

One of our friends from the states was having a party and the kids are playing some games and opening presents.

Thanksgiving Service

Will helped to translate(a little) for some friends from Texas. Liz was just having a good time. I was totally lost. Becca was talking with a friend. It was a good time.

Friday nite at the movies

Watching the original "Around the World in 80 days". It's 266 minutes long and they want to wactch the whole thing. Who says attention spans of kids are short?

Day 31 - The return of Becca's Boards

This is Becca's first chance to show her skills as a classroom decorator. She used to do this is Frost all the time, but as you might expect things are a little different here. For instance there are very few art stores and they have very limited supplies. Nonethelss she did a great job. She is the best!

Day 30 - Yummy to my tummy!

You've heard of Betty Crocker, Sussy Homemaker, Mrs. Smith,
Debbie Fields, and Little Debbie. . . but have you heard of Matka Bekki. That's right she lives right here in the heart of Krakow, and she makes the best cinnamon roles in Poland!(in fact they may be the only cinnamon roles in Poland)

Day 29 - All is fine

Liz and Kayla are having some girl time. They have lots of fun together.

Day 28 - Fire!

Ok so maybe its not the wisest thing for a dad to get his son (actually he paid for it with his own money) but he sure is having fun with his new magnifying glass. After hearing too many stories about how I would melt my Star Wars figures with a magnifying glass when I was his age, Will just have to have one for himself. Does anyone smell smoke?

Day 27 - My family has gone nuts!

The walnuts are falling from the sky! Will either loves walnuts, is really frustrated, or just loves to smash things, all of which are probably true.

City-Wide Service

There were about 400 of us together this day, all from different groups of course. That's about all of us in the city. It was a good morning. It was an encouragement to help others know Him.

Day 25 - Lizzy Sue

Chronicles - Day 24

This is tough man Will Dowdy. He has a new do and its pretty cool, at least to him it is.

Too cute for his own good

I know it's mean, but I think I will keep this one for blackmail purposes.

Liz went to the Philharmonic today with her school. Can you guess what they saw?

Goodies!

We got two packages today. One from Aunt Irene in Va. and one from Aunt Michele in Mo. We are still waiting on one more from Mrs. Montgomery in Tx. Becca got shoes and medicine. Will and Liz got letters, books, pens, and snacks.

The great American pasttime

I'm watching the Tigers beat the Yankees in game two of the playoffs. What's that on my face you ask? . . .I'm getting ready for the -20C winter weather that will be here before we know it.

Liz looks so cute in her new shirt. She looks like a teenager!

A new hobby

Will said that he doesn't need any new toys because paper airplanes are easy to make, cool to play with, and you can have a new one everyday.

Here's a story of a lovely lady. . .

who was bringing up three very lovely girls, all of them had hair of gold, just like their mother, the youngest one in curls . . .(Now everybody sing)

Will and Liz are enjoying a blast from the past with the Brady's. We hope you enjoy the song being stuck in your head for weeks to come.

Singing in the bathtub. . .

a cleaner we will be, playing in the water, is fun for you and me. I love my rubber ducky, he is so squeaky, I like it when he floats in, the bubbles all fluffy. I better get to washing, I'm getting all wrinkly, I'm feeling like a raisin, and looking quite silly!

Chronicles - Days 17- 23

This is a caterpillar. We found it in our brocolli. Now it's in a cocoon on the back porch. Soon it will be a butterfly. I feel kind of giddy inside!

I love fire! I am man! I love fire!

Like a moth to a flame making fire is Will's game.

Chronicles of Krakownia - Day 16 - Picnic

Liz had a picnic with her school. These are just some of the girls that she doesn't speak Polish to while she joyfully plays and searches for flowers with them.
